Ray Anderson has applied his entrepreneurial spirit to building one ofthe world's largest interior furnishings companies, Interface. Thecompany has reduced its environmental footprint significantly,redesigning processes and products, pioneering new technologies andreducing or eliminating waste and harmful emissions while increasingthe use of renewable materials and sources of energy.
Ray is recognized as one of the world&rsquos most environmentallyprogressive leaders on sustainable commerce, having served asco-chairman of the President&rsquos Council on Sustainable Developmentduring the Clinton administration; being recognized by MikhailGorbachev with a Millennium Award from Global Green in September 1996;receiving in 1996 the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of Year for theSoutheast Region and in 1997 as the Georgia Conservancy&rsquosConservationist of the Year and many other honorable awards.
